Robin Heart Shepperd, D. C., has been a holistic chiropractor in Austin, Texas since 1985. Although initially trained in the traditional chiropractic mode at Texas Chiropractic College, she brings a wealth of additional training and information to her practice. With her continuing desire for knowledge, she has learned Diversified, Applied Kinesiology, Activator Method, Cox, Network, Nimmo (deep tissue), and more which gives her a multitude of options in caring for her clients. To adjust most structural misalignments (subluxations), Dr. Shepperd uses an activator, a small, spring-loaded instrument which delivers a light, precision adjustment with little force unless the client prefers a manual adjustment. SERVICES She offers appointments to heal structural issues such as pinched nerves, numbness, pain and dysfunction. She has an extensive background in nutrition, and enjoys doing nutritional counseling. She particularly enjoys working with women’s issues such as PMS, menopause and other hormonal issues. Dr. Robin also employs the use of flower remedies (both Bach and Perelandra) for relief of emotional components associated with physical challenges. These homeopathic remedies have the quality of allowing reprieve from emotional upsets while providing space for healing. Although Dr. Shepperd does not routinely order x-rays for those who seek her care, there are times when the situation warrants a look at the bone structure. “X-rays provide useful information for those with a traumatic injury or when osteoporosis is suspected,” she maintains. She continually adds to her store of knowledge in healing, offering an array of complimentary treatments. She also has available a team of competent health care providers to whom she may refer when necessary. INSURANCE As the current insurance system is highly annoying to her, she is unwilling to file insurance for clients. However, she is happy to provide them with a diagnosis with proper diagnostic codes so that they may file themselves. She is also willing to refer to another chiropractor who has staff to move through the bureaucratic hoops. She invites you to call today to receive her nurturing care so that your body may function optimally with energy and ease. Call 444-9777 for your appointment in her South Austin office. Questions?
